The idea of “Art for children” developed from my art work “Big Panda”, that was donated to children’s hospital Lastenlinna in Helsinki.
This large work is more than 1 m high and much more than 100 kg weight. To complete the work I carefully carved into a large tree. ”Big Panda”,that hands up to the sky, was placed to “Lastenlinna” pediatric hospital for children in Helsinki in 2012. One nurse commented that “We have been very happy that Big Panda is in children’s playroom. It has given us and our little patients and their parents a lot of happiness every day with his open arms.”
Another large work “Panda mom & baby” is 1.5 m high and about 200 kg weight. The panda mom, holding on her baby tightly, gives kind and warm feelings to everybody. In 2013 it was made for Aizpute city in the granted project of SERDE artist residence in Aizpute, Latvia. Now the work “Panda mom & baby” is placed in the park in the heart of Aizpute city.
For Art For Children project I’m going to make a series of animal sculptures for children. Completed artworks are coming to show as my art exhibition at Gallery Jangva in Helsinki, Finland between 29.10 and 16.11.2014.
In December 2014 selected works are given to children as Christmas present. These works are going to be placed in a public place, where children have the opportunity to enjoy them.
Funding of the Project
The total budget of Art For Children project is more than € 6,000, the budget is still missing a large part of it. I hope to collect the 4,500€ from the funding of Mesenaatti. The remaining part of the fund I will spend for self-financing.

「子供のためのアート」プロジェクトは、子供が触ったり抱きついたりできる木彫りの動物彫刻を作り、クリスマスに子供の施設に寄付する内容です。動物彫刻を通して、子供たちに小さな喜びと幸せを与えたいと思っています。どうぞご支援をお願いします！
このアイデアは、ヘルシンキの子供病院ラステンリンナに寄付した木彫りの彫刻作品「大きなパンダ」から思いつきました。
高さ1メートル30センチ、重さ100キロを超えるこの彫刻作品は、鑿を使い、大木を丁寧に掘り進めることで完成しました。両手を天に掲げる「大きなパンダ」は、2012年にヘルシンキの小児専門病院ラステンリンナに設置されました。この病院の看護師長からは、 「『大きなパンダ』が子供たちのためのプレイルームに設置されてとても嬉しいです。この作品は、私たち看護師や私たちの小さな患者たち、そしてその両親に、毎日大きな幸せを与えてくれています。」というメッセージを頂いています。
もう一つの大きな作品「パンダ母子像」は、高さ1メートル50センチ、重さ200キロを超える樫の木から作られました。子パンダをしっかりと胸に抱いた母パンダ は、見る者にやさしくあたたかな印象を与えます。
この作品は、2013年にラトビアのアイズプテ市にあるアーティスト・イン・レシデンスSERDEにて、その芸術活動助成プログラムの一環として作られました。アーティスト・イン・レシデンス・プログラム（Artist in residence program)は、各種の芸術制作を行う人物を一定期間ある土地に招聘し、その土地に滞在しながら作品制作を支援する事業です。現在、「パンダ母子像」は、アイズプテ市の中央にある公園に設置されています。
私は、今秋フィンランドのクラウドファンディング・メセナーティにて「子供のためのアート」プロジェクトを行います。
まず、いくつかの木彫りの動物彫刻作品を子供たちのために作ります。次に、フィンランドの首都ヘルシンキにあるアートギャラリー・ヤングバ（Gallery Jangva)にて、展覧会を行い、そこでそれらの作品を披露します。展覧会は、今年10月29日から11月16日にかけて開催され、10月28日火曜日には、展覧会のオープニングパーティがあります。
最後に今年12月に、フィンランドの子供の施設に、クリスマスプレゼントとしてプロジェクト作品を寄贈する予定です。
プロジェクトの予算
プロジェクトの予算には全部で6000ユーロ（約84万円）以上の費用がかかります。未だ多くの費用が調達過程にあります。現在見ていただいているクラウドファンディング・メセナーティにて、4500ユーロ（約63万円 / 2014年9月24日現在）を調達する予定です。他の費用は、自らの資金を拠出するつもりです。
