    Kalasatama Summer Excercise Classes

Hi! If you need info in English, just contact pauliina@mesenaatti.me !

Idea on yksinkertainen: koko kesän jumpat saa 20 eurolla, ja mitä enemmän ihmisiä osallistuu, sitä usemman jumpan rahoittajat saavat. Kuitenkin vähintään kaksi jumppaa ja enintään 20 jumppaa. Kesto 60 min.

    OPETTAJAT

    Mimi Kajander

    DSCN7098

“Olen Mimi Cajander 35 vuotias Liikunnan moniammattilainen helsingistä.

Olen ollut alalla jo 14 vuotta!

Aloitin kuntosaliohjauksilla sekä erilaisten ryhmäliikuntatuntien vedon Finnbodylla, josta siirryin Elixialle ja sitten perustin oman yrityksen!

Koulutukseltani olen Lähihoitaja, Liikuntaneuvoja (Pajulahti), Personal Trainer (TarinerLab).

    Suvi Niemiaho

    2016-05-18-5162.tanssi

“Hei! Olen kolmekymppinen aineenopettaja ja radiokemisti, jonka suurimpiin intohimon kohteisiin lukeutuu tanssi sen kaikissa muodoissa. Olen harrastanut tanssimista noin 15 vuotta, viimeisen muutaman vuoden intensiivisemmin, lukuisia eri tanssilajeja kokeillen.

Kysymme rahoittajilta rahoituksen yhteydessä mikäli he arvelevat haluavansa käyttää lastenhoitajamahdollisuutta.

  • Nifty Neighbor – Place to Care

Nifty Neighbor – Place to Care

In Nifty Neighbor you can meet people near you – people you would not otherwise know. You can ask help for taking your dog out, find friends for your children, borrow tools, offer fishing company, help your neighbor, and find someone to appreciate receiving the leftover of their family dinner.

    How does it work?

Nifty Neighbor is a map and location based social web service. Social media, but on the map, based on location. In Nifty  everyone has their own location, home, on the map. It is close to other homes, and everyone can send messages on the map, and answer to other people’s messages. People can meet each other, with their needs and resources. Communication is positive. People ask and get help, they employ each other, get to meet each other, and create projects together. Neighborhoods become generally nicer places.

    Nifty works, safely

In order for the Nifty to work, it needs to be perfect. It needs to be userfriendly for both 8 and 88 year old. It needs to encourage people into random acts of good. It should be beautiful, fun, and safe.

Nifty Neighbor is our joint adventure

When the crowdfunding succeeds and Nifty Neighbor is built and launched, the collective work and adventure will begin. We, the team behind Nifty Neighbor are there with the users every day, following how the service works, developing it to be just as the users like it to be. Together we all make sure that this Nifty media is utilized to enhance wellbeing and to solve problems we all share.

    Crowdfunding is a collective accomplishment

Behind Nifty Neighbor stands Yhteismaa, a non-profit association. We are known for, for example, the Siivouspäivä/Cleaning Day recycling carneval, with hundreds of thousands of people having already participated. Our work has grown from volunteer to professional – and accordingly better. We have done many things with no budget. But for building Nifty we need a funding.

When everyone chips in, we can achieve great results fast.

    How is the money spent?

Our minimum goal is 20 000. That is enough to build the service: do the programming and graphic design. If we receive more, we can pay ourselves wages. 50 000 will be sufficient for most of the work for one year.

Please fund as soon as possible: we will start building the service as soon as we have the minimum sum. Moreover, every funder will encourage others to join, and the project will be more successful.

    Help us succeed

Crowdfunding cannot succeed if people don’t find out about the project. Without big capital, the only way there is only one way for them to know: people share the message.  It is just as valuable for you to help spread the word than it is for you to be a funder. This is how you can help.

    1. Tell about this campaign in Facebook. Twitter and other social media that you use. Remember to include the direct link to this campaign page. If you know nice people who might be interested in the project, approach them and invite them along.
    2. Tell about the campaign to companies or organizations you are involved with; they do have a great opportunity to join people and gain great visibility with very modest costs. Challenge them!
    3. Distribute Nifty Neighbor campaign flyers. Ask them to be sent to you from pauliina@yhteismaa.fi

Thank you! Whatever it is you do, it helps!

    You are all NIFTY!

  • We are building two flea market web services

We are building two flea market web services

We are bunch of people who have started an event, and a community, called Cleaning Day, in Finland. The actual event takes place two times a year. Thousands of people go all over the streets and parks and open up their own flea market stands. They mark them all on the Cleaning Day website. Then everyone else, hundreds of thousands of people, browse the stands on using that website, and go shopping. In general, it is just a very fun day.

Cleaning Day is also a 50 000 strong Facebook community, a media about recycling and ecological lifestyles, and a phenomena.

Here it is on a video in English.

And here are the instructions on how to do it in Your country.

Cleaning Day started in Finland in spring 2012, from a simple Facebook status update by a woman desperate to get rid of all of that extra stuff (basically her husband’s) around her home. She had no idea that this post would take fire as it did: after just one day thousands of people were already organizing a recycling event called Cleaning Day, and in two days it was already in the news. Someone volunteered to do a web service, someone else did the illustrations and logo’s, et cetera. It’s been a social movement, actually.

The first Cleaning Day took place on May 2012. Nowadays, Cleaning Day takes place twice a year, on the last full week of May on Saturday and on the last Saturday of August. Cleaning Day will be next organised on May 24th 2014.

    The Crises

Okay, so it has been all great so far. We accidentally started a phenomenon, got the whole country out to the streets, got tens of thousands Facebook fans – and just, basically, had a lot of fund out there milling and shopping with just lots of nice people.

But: what started as a social movement with a lot of pro bono activities, is now too big to stay that way. The web service cannot handle the traffic anymore. So, during the past three Cleaning Days, the website has crashed on the precise moment when shoppers are opening it to go looking for some excellent secondhand finds on the Cleaning Day moment. It is so sad, really: so many people have their stands ready, and since nobody can find the information about their stand, nobody comes. We are so sorry, everyone!

Which is why we definitely need a new web service. It is a rather complex and heavy web service where sellers mark their stands and give a little bit info on what they are offering, and where shoppers can see where to go. It is essential to the Cleaning Day experience. We need it.

If this crowdfunding doesn’t succeed, we will have to go with the existing site. No need to be a be a psychic to know what will happen.

This is our Offer to You

    1. Making it GLOBAL

Yeah, we are going to do an English language version of the site, with options for additional languages! Yeah, you can seize the moment and start doing it too!

    2. Making it EVERYDAY

Okay, this is another idea: we are going to launch another thing called Cleaning Day Everyday. It is a web service where people can mark all kinds of flea market events: in the parks, at schools, fairs – and at homes! Yes, can you see this could turn into an all new piece of urban culture, with people hosting fun shopping events in their apartments, and we would all get to go to other people’s homes? This, plus the increase in all kinds of relaxed flea market themed get togethers in the parks and neighborhoods. Who doesn’t love a market atmosphere? This time with no ecological harm. So be in it!

    Support us!

We think this is a chance for you too. So please help us with this website, and you will not regret! We now have an offer of circa 6000€ for the programming for the Cleaning Day website. With some 1000€ extra we get some other cool features. And, as with programming projects usually, some problem will appear, and we should be ready to put in another 1000€. And then there are maintenance and server payments for some 1500€. So our minimum sum is 9500€. And it is also the actual goal. Surely we would love to raise more, and make the web service even better, plus do more paid marketing for the event – but this is just about enough to turn on the programmers.

It can be done. You decide!

    Rewards

    1. Your name on the funders list on the new web service and coffee at our office * 5 euros
    2. Support membership for our association Yhteismaa for 2015 & coffee & name on the list * 20 euros
    3. Star Seller – a special sign on the Cleaning Day map service, a Star Seller poster to display on Cleaning Day at your post, and presentation of all star sellers on our Facebook page before the next Cleaning Day, and name on the funders list on the web site    * 25 euro
    4. 50% discount in Fida secondhand stores for clothes until the 23.5. with no maximum purchase limit * 40 euros
    5. Dinner Under the Sky on the 6th of August 2015, tables, chairs, linen, dishes, everything ready for you outside in public space, and some entrees; you can bring main dishes for the common table  * 30 euros
    6. Your company logo and link on the funder’s page forever   * 500 euros

  • JAZZ DANCE BALL – THE GROOVE OF NEW ORLEANS

JAZZ DANCE BALL – THE GROOVE OF NEW ORLEANS

    Moi kaikille,

We are watching this transition of summer turning into autumn and even as all of the scariest signs of the season become visible, we also look forward to bringing you one of the great treats of the season, the return of large-scale cultural events designed to pass warm evenings indoors. Specifically one great evening of jazz dancing and jazz music that we have planned at Helsinki’s Gloria Theater on October 11th!

We are a team combining the Helsinki Traditional Jazz Dance Company, an organization bringing American-born jazz dance performance and jazz dance courses to Europe, and Jason DeBose, a California-born resident of Helsinki who brought his U.S. training and work experience as a photographer and producer to Finland in 2007.

The program for which we have now come to Mesenaatti to raise funds is a jazz club tour by a group of American jazz musicians who have been delighting audience with complex stylings and dizzying musical talents for decades, who we have arranged to play alongside the Helsinki Traditional Jazz Dance Company as they bring to Punavuori a brand new set of jazz dance routines born in the American South entitled “The Groove of New Orleans.”

We have a full six-hour program planned that will give the audience a chance to first experience dance captains Clyde Wilder (USA) and Malin Grahn-Wilder (FIN) and their team as they ignite the stage with four highly trained feet of their own alongside their team of Helsinki Traditional Jazz Dance Company dancers. They will be accompanied by our US jazz band on stage at Gloria for a 90 minute dance presentation, after which our musicians will take center stage, the seats of the floor will be cleared, and the audience will be invited to dance into the night, wrapping up with two hours of dance and swing hits brought by renowned DJ Fiona Timantti (ITL).

A memorable international evening lies ahead and here we are offering jazz and swing dance fans from Uusimaa and beyond to pick up tickets at discount, early-bird prices by contributing to our campaign right here on Mesenaatti.

Gloria is a theater of 300 seats, and we are prepared to offer our audience as many of those seats as can be taken by Friday, September 19th. Have a look at Gloria at

    nk.hel.fi/gloria/

    https://fi-fi.facebook.com/gloriahelsinki

and contribute right here on Mesenaatti for tickets to The Groove of New Orleans in this lovely historic theater.

    Our Mesenaatti campaign will offer:

22 EUR – a standard ticket, access to the show for the entire 6-hour performance and dance program, and a seat for the 8 PM dance program.

30 EUR – a priority seating ticket, which allows early access to Gloria’s open seating plan (sit wherever you choose amongst Gloria’s two floors and 300+ seats), as well as a shorter line once inside for the coat check area and the bar.

150 EUR – a balcony table: a private compartment on the second floor of the Gloria Theater that seats four, closely overlooking the stage. This package price also includes early venue access, in addition to a bottle of either wine or champagne for the group upon arrival.

350 EUR – the package of the balcony table (four seats on a balcony or wherever you like) plus a backstage meet-up with the jazz band and the dancers, which also will allow access to the backstage refreshment serving table.
    —————————————————————————————
What these ticket purchases will contribute to funding:

    – the travel costs of our musicians;
    – the performance fees of the dancers and the musicians;
    – their accommodation costs during their rehearsal time;
    – the photographers and live camera crew that will capture key moments of the night (which will of course be shared later on the website of the Helsinki Traditional Jazz Dance Company).

  • Pirttitörmä in Ii – Tracing finds

Pirttitörmä in Ii – Tracing finds

    kaivajia

In 2011 a metal detectorist discovered multiple Late Iron age objects in Suutarinniemi, Illinsaari.

Following the discovery of these exciting artefacts, archaeologists from the University of Oulu carried out a more comprehensive excavation. This excavation in summer 2013 revealed that the findspot was a Late Iron Age burial site containing the remains of at least twenty individuals. This success has provided encouragement to carry out another excavation at a similar findspot in Pirttitörmä in summer 2014. The Finnish Association for Supporting Archaeological Research is now seeking to attract financial support for this important project.

    Why Crowdfunding?

Archeological research in Finland, as in many other countries, has suffered from a lack of funding in recent years. Traditional sources of research grant income are more stretched than ever and competition is exceptionally fierce. As a result, many excellent projects struggle to attract sufficient funding. As a result we have chosen to seek Crowdfunding support for this project. We also feel that Crowdfunding is an excellent way to involve many more people with archeological research. Our excavation and many like it aim to uncover previously unknown stories from our shared history. Artefacts discovered in projects of this type belong not only to Finland but to the wider world. They help us to learn more about where we all come from and how life was lived in Finland and elsewhere in the Bronze Age. By providing support to this project
you will be a part of this excavation and have a role in sharing its story with the world.

How will your contribution be used?

Many people are unaware of the costs associated with archeology – as well as the basic costs required to keep the research team in the field to carry out the excavation there are many other costs. Radio carbon dating – used to ascertain the age of some artifacts discovered on digs like ours can cost €450 – 500. In addition, many artefacts which are recovered require painstaking conservation – in some cases, simply to stop them from disintegrating. Contributions from supporters of our Crowdfunding campaign will be contributing directly to these vital elements of the projects.

What are the benefits of getting involved?

We are extremely grateful to all supporters who choose to contribute to our project and we have created a range of rewards to enable us to say ‘thank you’.
We offer unique and informative rewards representing the excavation to our supporters. You can support us by choosing either printed photographs of the site and finds, order a daily report from the excavation directly to your email or book a tour around the excavation where you can meet the archaeologists and see the site and finds. For a more enthusiastic supporter we also offer an amazing opportunity to go on a day tour of the ancient sites and monuments of Northern Ostrobothia with the Professor of Archaeology and a lecturer of Archaeology in University of Oulu.

All rewards will be delivered by the end of August 2014 (unless stated otherwise).

    THANK YOU!

Every funder makes a real and genuine difference to this important project and we appreciate any support you are able to provide.

Thank you – we are looking forward to making history with you!
