Etana’s first picture books ‘Yksi vielä’ (One more) and ‘Värejä meressä’ (Colour me Sea) are for 1-3 years old readers. Both books are 32 pages long and in 16x16cm format. They are available in Finnish, and printed on a heavy weigh, eco-friendly paper. The books are binded in a traditional way with canvas spine and hard cover, that take the test of times and the jumbling of small fingers.
A busy year is behind us. We have polished the rough bits and bites of our books to the end, read the stories aloud to children, received feedback on what works and what does not. Now it is time to introduce our first books to You.
Yksi vielä = One more
Written and illustrated by Réka Király, ‘One more’ is a short story of an empty red hut standing alone in the forest. One by one new animals move in till the hut is far too full.
Värejä meressä = Colour me Sea
Jenni Erkintalo’s first book, ‘Colour me Sea’ tells the story of a whimsical family of brushes with basic colors. They have the task to paint both small and big animals of the sea with fresh colours.
The full budget of the books is over 10 000 euros. Most of the budget is still lacking. With the help of crowd funding we hope to raise 5000 euros. The remaining of the budget we are planing to cover by grants applied and by self-financing.
Through this campaign we would like to meet readers who share our passion for picture books. Support the first steps of of the new independent children’s books publisher by buying Etana’s books, and be part of story!
