    Uskalla olla mukana!

    Uusia ystäviä -group (ENG New Friends) was established on 25.11.2015 to Facebook based on “Looking for new friends” add made by Anne Palomäki. Uusia ystäviä -group was and still is meant for people that experience loneliness or are looking for new friends. Amount of people grew rapidly to 1000 and as days rolled by, all the way to the current 2300 people. Events were set up based on interests and one of the events was started by Maisa Ojanen. Event was meant for people interested photography and modelling. From this group formed up a team that is working on a charity calendar for year 2016.

    Calendar “Uskalla” (Dare) tells about what we all should sometimes do: dare. We should dare to get excited, to dare to be inspired, dare to indulge in with an open mind to new things, dare to put between ourselves on the line and take risks and dare to be ourselves – just as we are. Calendar team decided to do just this: dare to do this project, even that the schedule was tight and we didn’t know each other beforehand.

    Theme of the calendar is touch & closeness which every person should get regularly. Closeness usually is something else than physical, it’s friendship, companionship and feeling trust. With these goals in mind we chose our charity: HelsinkiMissio, which works towards getting rid of loneliness in Helsinki. HelsinkiMissio aims it’s work to people of all ages and they interview and train new volunteers all the time to work as support for a young person or a family mentor not to forget about morning phone which is aimed for people over 60-year of age. “Uskalla” calendar is done totally by volunteers and financing is gathered through crowdfunding (Mesenaatti) and also with possible support from business cooperation. In order for the calendar to reach its target audience we market it in Facebook, our own profiles as well as the projects own page, in all the articles and interviews about the “Uusien ystävien” group and by HelsinkiMissio in their own channels.

    Calendar will be sold through a webshop and in some small shops in Helsinki. Profits after printing and delivery costs will be directed fully to charity. Profits per (1) calendar are estimated to be 10€.

    You also have an opportunity to order outstanding postcards, which you can send out as a hello to a friend, cheer up lonely, Valentine’s day card or a birthday greeting! Awesome cards will be delivered as a package and the profits (5€ per pack) will be directed fully to the charity.

    Idea of the calendar was put together in one evening and the team was together on the very next day. First pictures were taken within a week. Calendar was put together within a month. First envelopes and deliveries will reach your mailbox right after New Year. Let us all DARE to work for a worthy cause – TOGETHER!

    Order this volunteer made USKALLA/DARE-wall calendar for year 2016! Profits made by the calendar are guided fully to charity: HelsinkiMissios activities. Calendar is fully done by volunteers. Pictures have been taken volunteer photographers and all the people in the pictures have been brought together by this project.

    13 eläinkohtaloa – Oulun Animalian kalenteri 2016

    13 animal fates is a calendar in the making by Animalia Oulu. The calendar deals with the treatment of animals in our society in relation to laws, attitudes and common practices. People in the calendar put themselves into the animal’s place. Animals do not wear clothes, so neither will the models of the calendar. There will be strong images that are sure to leave no one cold!

    All calendar profits will be given to charity; they will be divided equally Pelastetaan koirat association, Juliana von Wendt Foundation and Animalia of Oulu association. With the minimum goal we can print 300 copies of the calendar, but our aim is to sell 1000 calendars, so that after the expenses each of the charities receives several thousands for their important work to the benefit of the animals. Will you help?

     

    The calendar is made entirely by volunteers, only costs are from the printing of the calendar. All calendar profits are used in full to charity. In the making is a big team of Oulu Animalia activists, celebrities, professional photographers, make-up and hair artist and a graphic designer. The models in the calendar include. Mr. Gay Finland 2014 Peter Linden, presenter and entertainer Sampo Marjomaa, cosmologist and professor of theoretical physics Syksy Räsänen, Mount Everest conqueror and entrepreneur Carina Räihä, writer and theatre maker Laura Gustafsson and burlesque- and pin-up artist Ginger Ale.

    Animals need your help! Pre-ordered calendars through Mesenaatti-crowd funding will be mailed in the autumn well in-time for Christmas, so the calendar is the perfect gift for friends, relatives and colleagues. Help us help the animals and get yourself a copy of the most magnificent wall calendar of the year 2016 now!

     

    If the project does not reach the minimum goal, the money will be returned, minus payment transfer costs (€ 1.80).

    Animalia Oulu is regional subsection of Animalia. Because animals cannot speak for themselves, a strong and expert organization is needed to lead animal causes in Finland. We oppose any treatment of animals that causes pain or distress or prevents them from performing their essential species-­specific behaviors. Animalia strives to improve the current state of animal welfare and animal rights by having them more carefully considered in legislation, education and everyday dealings with animals. 13 animal fate -calendar focuses on the promotion of these issues. Animalia’s work is based on both experience and research.

    Juliana von Wendt Foundation supports the scientific and medical research to develop and apply alternative non-animal testing methods, in order to contribute to the wellbeing of people and animals.

    Pelastetaan koirat association works to the help the animals living in the street, at the moment concentrating in Romania’s street dog problem, which is the worst in the EU.

    How to fund?

    From the right side of the page, pick either one calendar for the price of €17 or two for €30 and press fund. If you want to order more calendars, write the number in the amount of products (NOTICE: if you have chosen the product 2 for €30, then writing 2 in the amount of products field means you will get 4 calendars for the price €60). Fill in the rest of the fields and press proceed to checkout. You can pay with Finnish online banking or with Visa and Mastercard. You can change the language in the payment page from the upper right corner. The calendars will be mailed after the Mesenaatti-campaign in the autumn well in-time for Christmas.
