Hemp is one oft most mind blowing plants with beneficial uses out there. It offers the most strongest and versatile natural fibers in the world. If we look 100 years back in time, hemp was common knowledge in Finland and for rest of the world. We are not talking about a new innovation, instead a historically important plant with several beneficial uses for thousands of years. In the beginning of 20th century cotton and artificial fibers were replacing hemp because of it\u2019s rough fibers. We live the year 2014 and the fibre processing technology nowadays makes it possible to manufacture one the most softest and durable textiles out of hemp. After recycled materials, hemp is the most environmental friendly materials out there. Commonly used cotton and artificial fibers are actually very harmful for the global nature. Instead of harming the environment, hemp binds carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and makes the soil more fertile for future crops, leaving a carbon negative footprint in the environment. Hemp fibre that is used in our garments is grown in northern China. That is also the reason why our products are manufactured in a small factory specialized in ecological materials in eastern China. After four years of co-<\/p>\n
operation with our manufacturer we can proudly stand behind the quality and ethical standards. We think it\u2019s great that these days you can find high quality manufacturers from the world, especially in China, that shares the same values than us in Finland. In the long term our goal is to bring the cultivation & textile processing of this historical plant back to Finland. After we started our journey in clothing industry it has been encouraging to notice how much attention hemp clothing has gotten. Our customers are constantly asking for new products in their favorite colours. Unfortunately as being a small company, we have not been able to provide the demand because of the huge minimums of orders in today\u2019s clothing industry. Now you have the ball and we are giving the chance for you to be part of our movement so that in the future RCM could offer a larger scale of hemp fibre products. Group funding is indeed a revolutionary idea! That\u2019s why it \u2018s perfect for our company\u2019s ideology and values, better than loaning the money from the banks. Crowdfunding brings back the power to the people!<\/p>\n
We want to be the first Finnish garment company that shows an example with crowdfunding that improves more sustainable and clothing manufacturing based on an actual demand. Our goal is to aim at 35 000\u20ac, this would permit us to expand our collection in hemp pants & jackets in a larger variety of colours.<\/p>\n
